tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27 of 1976. He was raised in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both basketball and football teams. Gonzalez continued to excel in those sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He was the team's football coach to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, he tied the record for school bowls with nine receptions. Gonzalez was the basketball coach into the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament in just a few months following. He then left school to join the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez played for the Chiefs from 1997 until the year 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. Beginning in his second season in the NFL and never catching more than 59 passes in one season.
