Suzanne Pleshette

SuzanneSuzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 from 1937 to January 19th 2008) was an American theatre, film, television, and voice actress. Pleshette began her theatre career and was in films by the late 1950s. Later, she was an important actress in films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She was later seen in several television productions, often as a guest actor, and was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978, and received several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on January 31 in 1937. Her parents were Jewish, the descendants of emigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was an artist and dancer who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage director at the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
